I learned that Copernicus made the heliocentric theory, and that the church didn't like the heliocentric theory and jailed people if they believed in it.
I wonder what was the method used by Copernicus to figure out the heliocentric theory?

People were afraid of believing in heliocentric theory's, even Copernicus
Geocentric theory says planets suns and stars revolve around the earth
I wonder how Nicholas Copernicus was scared enough to not publish his heliocentric theory until he was on his deathbed

I found it interesting how they could not release the theories until they were going to die out of fear of repercussions, as well as the fact that the moon rotates closest to the earth. I wonder how far the universe goes on. TD

1) I found it interesting that humans were so narcissistic and blindly religious that they denied blatant evidence that previously contradicted the previous theory that the Earth was the center of the universe.
2) I found it interesting that while Copernicus stuck by his theory to the death, yet Galileo recanted.
3) I wonder what makes humans fear change so much that they are willing to threaten a brilliant mind into silence be it through death or the risk of it.

The heliocentric theory said that the sun was at the center of the universe, though the church didn't believe it.
Accepted and believed by the church, the geocentric theory said that the Earth was at the center.
I wonder if there are still some people debating over the two theories.

It was interesting that Galileo said he was wrong to avoid persecution
Also was interesting that the church believed so strongly that they were right that they would kill people to keep there belief
I wonder how the church felt when they figured out they were wrong
